Jewellery Party – Christmas 2013 in Crewe

E-Unique held a jewellery party at Beechmere Retirement Home in Crewe.  It was the first jewellery party that E-Unique has held and are pleased to say that it was a success.

We had great support from the residents, family and friends on the day and we raised £171.00.  We gave the organisers a £21.00 donation as a thank you for letting us use their facilities.

We also had generous donations from people who asked us to come again as they wanted us to host another jewellery party.  E-Unique hope to host another jewellery party in Crewe in September.

The money raised will go towards the running of the up and coming music workshops.

E-Unique would like to say a big thank you to everyone who participated.

E-Unique Fundraising Event – December 2013

E-Unique created a band called The Uniquez who performed at the fundraising event at Hammersmith Town Hall.  The Events4Youth Volunteer Centre helped to organise the event.  We had the lovely actress Judith Jacobs in attendance.

We had great unwavering support all evening with the different artists who performed and made the evening as memorable an evening as possible.  E-Unique would like to thank them all.

E-Unique would like to say a special thank you to the staff at The Body Shop who did massages, donated samples of their products and also gift wrapped prizes for the raffle.

E-Unique would like to say a special thank you also to the Events4Youth Volunteer Centre for all their hard work in organising this wonderful occasion.

E-Unique would like to thank family and friends who came to the fundraising event.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Raising the roof at the E-Unique fundraiser

If you’re a fan of music and enjoy having the chance to win a few prizes to boot, keep your eyes peeled for the next E-Unique event. A project designed to engage young, disabled people in music, E-Unique recently held its first public fundraising evening at the Hammersmith Town Hall. The fundraiser was backed by The Big Lottery – Young People’s Fund in conjunction with HFVC’s very own youth project Events 4 Youth. Locals, volunteers and family members filled the hall to enjoy music from local singers and songwriters, hit the dance-floor for African-fusion band All 4 One, and experience some freestyle rap with TNS. Guests also won exciting prizes that were raffled off throughout the evening, plus ate, drank and got hold of some gorgeous gifts provided by the Body Shop. The show culminated with the performance of an original song by E-Unique director Eugenia Bertin’s own band, the Uniquez. As the evening drew to a close she commented, “It went really well. I’m very happy with what I’ve done, and the young people loved it.” All proceeds from the event will go back into E-Unique, a social enterprise founded by Eugenia after working with creative workshop provider Defcon. After a series of sessions with team leader Natty Sobhee, her passion for music led her to ask why there aren’t more workshops for young people with disabilities and interesting activities that will help to keep youths off the streets. She created a business plan for E-Unique and began running monthly workshops with Defcon that let young adults create songs, DJ, or try out technical music production. The end result of the sessions thus far is a CD that was written, recorded and performed by the young people, with all sales going back towards improving music-centred community programmes. Eugenia will continue to hold music workshops and fundraisers to achieve more visibility for E-Unique in the community, but that the main goal for everyone involved is to have fun. For more information about the projects mentioned above, please visit Events 4 Youth Website, E-Unique Website and Defcon workshops

On the Saturday 5th of October from 6pm-10pm an extremely unique fundraising event will take place at Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU. On the 5th of October from 6pm-10pm, helping to raise funds for the charitable enterprise E-Unique. This event will play host to some amazing artists and great food, with some fantastic prizes to be won, this event is sure to be a game changer for this growing enterprise.

With help from Body shop and Events 4 Youth, E-Unique is offering theatre tickets and signed music memorabilia amongst other prizes in their raffle. Body Shop is also offering out 30 gift bags for the first 30 people as well as massages through out the day. The day will be filled with good music from some awesome performers. It will also be the debut performance of the group born out of the workshops run by E-Unique. The Uniquez (the group that E-Unique created from the workshops) are to perform their song “One Nation” which was created by the group of over 25’s who are coping with disabilities.

There are a lot of youth programmes for people under the age of 25 in London, however as soon as these exceed that period, there is not many schemes to help the over 25’s. E-Unique started because its founder Eugenia Bertin’s passion for music surpasses the mainstream’s acceptance of disabled artists. With her involvement in many music projects, she did not want anyone excluded from having the chance to create. Eugenia say’s “I don’t like people being labeled” and wants to deliver exciting creative programmes for everyone no matter what background. She has managed to raise over a quarter of a million pounds for the HAFAD foundation and helped other charities raise funds.

In its short life span of three years E-Unique has run workshops in percussion, songwriting, visual art and DJing, as well as mentoring an artist called Lil’ Raz. In conjunction with filmmaker Jenny Rose, E-Unique helped develop a music video for Lil’ Raz’s song “Why did you?”

Come along to this event and support this great cause to help everyone feel equal and empowered. This event will be held at Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith, W6 9JU. On the 5th of October from 6pm-10pm
